IT’S GUINNESS SEASON

What started as a simple sales promotion to encourage Aussies to drink more Guinness in winter evolved into an omni-channel experience centred around a weather app called Guinness BOM, or ‘Brewery of Meteorology’. The app notified people when the temperature dropped below a certain level and used GPS to guide them to their reward - a free pint of Guinness.

 
 
 
 

THE BREWERY OF METEOROLOGY

To encourage Aussies to drink Guinness during winter, we created a weather app called
'The Brewery of Meteorology'.

Our app is inspired by the well-known Bureau of Meteorology app (or BOM). The purpose of our app is to notify people of the perfect drinking conditions and reward them with a free pint of Guinness if the temperature reaches the ideal drinking weather.

Additionally, the app is equipped with a GPS AND MAPS that directs users to the nearest local pub serving Guinness.

We promoted the app with Irish celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge,
as our roaming weather reporter.
